Configuration and email

With all of our hosting packages, we take care of the grunt work so you can concentrate on the content. We’re firm believers that valuable content brings success… just look at our site! With that said, you shouldn’t have to spend any time worrying about the configuration of your hosting account. Adding content, checking email, uploading pictures — all of those things should have an “it just works” mentality. We’ll help you get there.

Whether you’re starting a new website or looking for a new web host, we’ll setup everything you need to get rolling in the backend. We’ll migrate any WordPress site to the Lumos Digital servers for free with any of our hosting packages. Not on WordPress? We’ll give you a quote to convert your static website to the dynamic power of WordPress during your transition.

If you need more than just the limited access to content the WordPress dashboard offers, we’ll give you a FTP access to manage the files on your account. Let your designer in to make changes, have us do the design work for you, or just take a look at your files with any FTP client like Transmit.

What about email?

Everyone needs an email address for their website. If you’re one of those people who use a “mywebsite@hotmail.com” email address, there’s a better solution for everyone. Some people prefer hosted exchange (the Microsoft types), others prefer self-hosted email… we prefer Google Apps.

While we can help with other email solutions, most people find that Google Apps allows them to do everything they want for free. You get 10 email addresses for free; any more than that and you have to purchase the business account. With Google Apps you get access to all of the standard Google software: Calendar, Contacts, Email, etc. And… it can sync to nearly any device: laptop, desktop, phone or tablet. Google Apps setup is free with our hosting packages.
